MY POLTERGEIST OBSESSION

Bro, this severely underrated horror masterpiece has been my full-time life obsession for the past two weeks. I could not tell you how many hours I've spent with ChatGPT analyzing every little detail I can find — and I'm still going.

This movie first sparked my curiosity 11 years ago, when it released in summer 2015. I was attending private school, seeing previews for it in YouTube ads, and something about it instantly grabbed me. I didn’t know why, but I couldn’t let go of it. It was the horror mystery I was dying to unravel, yet too young to watch at the time. I had no context for what it was, but had all the more desire to learn more about it.

In Dec 2023, I finally rented it, watched it, and fell head over heels. Then a month ago I bought it on Prime for super cheap, rewatched it, and from that point on… I could not let it go.

It became my comfort movie. The characters in the movie became my cinema family. It taught me a lot about connection, grief, and how love kind of blurs the line between life and death.

From venting to family and ChatGPT about scenes to writing my own short film inspired by it, I’m gonna have a HELL of a review to make 😂 This is the kind of movie Blumhouse wishes they had made, lol.

I know I’ve got other movies I want to review first, but this one touched my heart too deeply to move on from. I’m not letting it go until I’m done with it — which might honestly be never 😂

This movie is my everything.

Thank you to everyone who worked on it for making something so heartfelt and unforgettable.

Stories like this are exactly what the film industry needs more of.
